Education + Events
All of our educational programs and events fund our wildlife hospital, allowing us to take in nearly 4,000 native wildlife patients each year with the goal of release. We love working with our community to give wildlife a second chance.
Our sanctuary offers a variety of educational programs for both public and private gatherings. We offer pre-booking for field trips, corporate give-back days, summer camps, off-site educational programs, group outings, and more! Below are some typical program offerings. Have an idea that isn't listed? Reach out! We'd love to collaborate.
On-Site Educational Programs
- Field trips: Experience a guided property tour to see all of our non-releaseable residents animals. Get up close and personal to owls, hawks, vultures, and our mighty bald eagles! Learn about the role our sanctuary plays in the community and why Pensacola residents have been supporting us since our start in 1982.
- $8 per child, chaperones enter free
- Able to work with any sized group, private guide ratio is 1:25 students
- Lunch area available
- Add-ons available: bird-handling presentation (schedule permitting) $50, team building service projects (age restricted), owl pellet dissection $4/student, reading with raptors (young student option)
- Supply drives accepted as supplemental payment to work with all budgets
Off-Site Educational Programs
For offsite events at your school or office, we offer programs both with and without live raptor ambassadors (note: programs with live birds are booked sparingly and tend to book far in advance)
- Program topics: Wild Roots: The Sanctuary's Story (best for large groups), Owl Pellet Dissection, Wild Future: Wildlife Care as a Career
